Jinho Choi,苏州大学2138cn太阳集团古天乐特聘教授,博导。2011年8月,获得韩国汉阳大学博士学位。博士研究的重点是在半导体衬底上自组装的一维 (1D) 分子系统。使用第一性原理密度泛函理论 (DFT) 计算,为硅衬底上的一维分子线提出了几种新的自组装机制(其中一条线最近被实验证实)。
毕业后,通过中科院青年科学家项目进入中国科学技术大学。在这里,Jinho Choi教授研究过薄膜太阳能电池材料和新发现的二维系统。例如,通过使用最先进的结构搜索技术自适应遗传算法提出了铜硫属化物化合物的新结构模型。还使用第一性原理多体理论发现了二维材料中带隙和激子结合能的惊人线性比例定律。之后,于东国大学(韩国)担任研究教授,研究重点是钠离子电池的负极材料。2016年2月,加入釜山大学和汉阳大学,作为两个合作组的桥梁,正式隶属于釜山大学。在这里的研究项目专注于二维电子化物的电子特性。
2017年10月,加入苏州大学,担任特聘教授。继续研究二维材料及其异质结构的电子特性。同时,计划开发或改进基于遗传算法和构象空间退火方法的材料设计理论方法。
In Aug. 2011, Prof. Jinho Choi got his Ph.D. from Hanyang University, Korea. His Ph.D. study focused on one-dimensional (1D) molecular systems self-assembled on semiconductor substrates. Using first-principles density functional theory (DFT) calculations, he proposed several new self-assembly mechanisms for 1D molecular wires on Si substrates (one of these wires was recently confirmed experimentally).
After graduation, he joined the University of Science and Technology of China through a young-scientist fellowship program from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Here he had worked on thin-film solar cell materials and newly discovered 2D systems. For example, he proposed new structural models for copper chalcogenide compounds by using the state-of-the-art structure-search technique adaptive genetic algorithm. He also found a striking linear scaling law of the bandgap and exciton binding energy in 2D materials using a first-principles many-body theory. Then, he moved to Dongguk University (Korea) as a research professor. In Dongguk university, his research focused on anode materials for Na ion batteries. In Feb. 2016, he joined Pusan National University and Hanyang University to bridge the two collaborating groups, officially affiliated with Pusan National University. His research project here focused on the electronic properties of two-dimensional electrides.
In Oct. 2017, he joined Soochow University, China, as a full professor. He continue to study the electronic properties of 2D materials and their heterostructures. Meanwhile, he plan to develop or improve theoretical approaches for materials design based on the genetic algorithm and the conformational space annealing methods.
